Hi! My name is Aura, a creative based in Metro Manila, Philippines. I earned my degree in Film in the University of the Philippines - Diliman campus while doing freelance work in the field of the arts and film.
I’ve been painting for years and started taking commissions for both digital and traditional paintings in 2020.
I’ve managed brands such as Eve’s Garden Homestay and Houseparty Collective. I've also worked as a photographer for the clothing brand, Yndan.
In 2021, I interned for Bigbulb Creative Lab, Inc where I honed my skills in graphics design.
I’ve produced and directed music videos for Sony Music Philippines such as Takas by Loir ft. Gloc-9. I’ve produced JTown by Young Cocoa (2023), Show U by Zelijah (2022), and Ayoko Pa by Alex Bruce (2022) as well as managed events and produced different online contents for various artists. I am also currently the creative director for Sony Artist, Malli.
At the moment, I am in the pre-production stage of my first major short film, titled ‘*Human?’*. I'm specifically interested in creating experimental and surrealist images of grief, self identity, and dreams, using my background as a painter to translate my visions with film as the canvas and medium.
Since 2018, I’ve explored different aspects of film which focused on art, poetry, and experimental narratives. My interests led me to work as director, cinematographer, writer, and editor in my first undergraduate films Awake (2019), a poetry film called Untitled (2020), and Bloody Mary (2021), a film exploring themes of art. I wrote, directed, and animated, UNGO (2021), a poetry-animation film exploring nightmares. Other films include Titig (2020) which I also wrote and directed.
I worked as Director of Photography in Thomas Sison’s thesis film, When You Were Here Before. In 2022, I worked as Director of Photography for Gaby Marcial’s film Mimosa and won Best Cinematography in UPFI’s Black Beret 2022. I’ve worked with CJ Reyes in her dance film, Piyesa (2021), which was chosen as a finalist for Fifth Wall Fest Dance Film Festival.
Recently, I am working on music videos for artists: Menon, CA Christian Alexander, and Sony artist, Loir. I am also doing Director of Photography work for Director Kinno Toogue for his film Sa Dulo ng Ilog Magtatampisaw.
